_ More Government Projects

Completed for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE), this project combined two facilities, the ASF and the USARC, to better utilize a restricted site. Increasing the site density allowed both occupant groups to share common use areas and building systems. The building is situated to take advantage of daylight and views of the surroundings. The large hangar space is designed with translucent clerestory and ground level glazing to increase ambient natural light and reduce electrical lighting demands. The entire project consisted of a 60,000 sf Aviation Support Facility (ASF) for CH-47 helicopters, an attached 26,000 sf Army reserve Center (USARC), a 1,100 sf Unheated Storage Building (UHB) located adjacent to the ASF, two gas storage buildings and a wash apron.  A 4,000 sf Organizational Maintenance Shop building was constructed on a separate site adjacent to the existing USARC structure.
