_ More Cultural Projects

Ever since it opened in 1915, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts has been evolving inside and out. The original neoclassical museum was updated by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange in 1974. It was then RSP first started working with the museum. Our work included the addition of a family activity room, a small café, an interactive computer area and other museum spaces. One of the more exacting aspects of this first project was the restoration of the original sklylight galleries. In the end, the 1974 expansion/remodel increased the museum by 25% and virtually every gallery was refurbished and reconfigured to improve visitor access and flow between exhibition spaces. Since then, RSP has continued to work with the MIA on a series of renovation and remodeling projects.
