Target Corporation was RSP’s first client and remains one of our largest and most important. For over 30 years, RSP has provided architectural design services for Target that range from new store design to renovation and remodeling of everything from interior store layout to bathrooms to the recycling program. We’ve completed over 1,000 projects without missing a deadline or exceeding a budget. In honor of our exemplary service, Target awarded RSP the “Partner Award of Excellence” in 2010 for the firm’s innovative leadership, superior business practices and commitment to Target’s core strategies. Highlights of RSP’s work in 2010 include:
-
The April 2010 opening of the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM), an 180,000 square foot new building housing the world’s largest collection of musical instruments. To date, the project has received praise from the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal. Singer Tony Bennett raved about the museum after a recent visit, stating the MIM is better than the Met.
-
Completion of 150 remodeling projects across the country as part of Target’s key merchandising strategies.
-
Creation of Target’s in-store recycling program to provide bottle recycling in all New York state stores.
-
Design and construction of new stores in Chicago, IL; East Liberty, PA; Oxnard, CA: and Madison, WI.
“RSP has once again proven that we can rely on them to rise to any challenge our program throws at them,” said Rich Varda, FAIA, senior vice president of store design. “They are fantastic partners.”
